The Treehouse Project: Players

Current Players

• Guitarist Colin Bunn, former member of Andrew Bird’s Bowl of Fire and current member of Delmark recording artists Kevin O’Donnell’s Quality Six.

• Pedal steel guitarist Ken Champion, best known for his work on three of Jim O’Rourke’s solo albums, as well as the Smog CD Red Apple Falls.

• Jon Doyle on tenor saxophone and clarinet. Jon currently performs and records with The Four Charms, The Wabash Jug Band, Andiamo and the Dave Pavkovic Band.

• Bassist Matt Thompson, who has lent his talents to jazz greats such as Ira Sullivan and Von Freeman, and performed on and produced the newest recording from the Mighty Blue Kings.

• Mike Reed, drummer, composer, leader: currently drumming with Moonshine Willy, Big Breakfast, Jim Roll, and others, and director of Chicago's Emerging Improvisers Organization.

Past

• Saxophonist David McDonnell left the group shortly after the debut recording to tour with the adventurous music trio Bablicon. He has since spent a year living in China and now has returned to Chicago performing with his new duo Michael Columbia

• Guitarist George Kalantzis moved to the great state of Pennsylvania where he resides with his Wife Joanne and daiughter Zoe. We wish them well.
