For Pilots is: Peter Joly on guitar and vocals, Paul Ovnik on drums and Jamie Wagner on bass, keyboards and other instruments.

Fortunate, the debut release from Chicago trio For Pilots, hits the street this fall, with 10 tunes representing the cream of songwriter Peter Joly's estimable crop.

Augmented at times by strings, keys, horns and a even a gospel-influenced choir, Fortunate is by turns exuberant and introspective, an impressive display of Joly's songwriting palette and the band's ability to capture and transmit a wide range of styles and moods. From the epic sweep of "Homesteader" to the soaring choruses of "Let It Go With the Wind" to the steely-eyed faux-fatalism of "Give Up," "Fortunate" lives up to its title, and promises that its listeners will feel the same way.
